Auchan chooses NCR FastLane Deli the new self-service solution to buy goods and services without queuing

The first installation at the bar corner inside the Auchan store of Cesano Boscone, (MI) but others have been already planned

The new self-service solution named NCR FastLane Deli™, developed for European market and launched by NCR Corporation during the Self Service Universe Conference hold in Munich last May, has been already chosen by Auchan. The first installation was at the bar corner inside the Auchan store of Cesano Boscone, (Milan’s area) then in the new store in Rome and at the bar corner in Venaria’s store (Turin’ area). But NCR FastLane Deli will be soon installed in Cinisello Balsamo’s store (Milan’s area) as well.

Thanks to an advanced software, NCR FastLane Deli allows consumers to select one or more products – or services – from a set list, pay using cash, by debit card or credit card, taking advantage of the opportunities and offers provided through fidelity cards and to get the relative receipt for pick up or delivery of the goods.

Thanks to NCR FastLane Deli, named “Cassamica-Bar” by Auchan to make more relevant the its proximity with NCR FastLane self checkout (Cassamica at Auchan stores), retailers can focus staff on preparation and delivery activities, reducing checkout operations and taking advantage of automated cash management. They can furthermore benefit from a number of technical advantages regarding the integration of with the POS gate and standard management with traditional NCR FastLane self checkouts.

“We have chosen NCR for its self-service solutions, for its experience and because it is able to understand and answer to our needs,” said Marino Vignati, Auchan IT director. NCR FastLane Deli solution belongs to the NCR FastLane range and supports NCR’s WinEPTS electronic payment solution with its accessory services.

Commenting on this product launch, Giovanni Bandi, NCR Vice President Retail, Hospitality and Self-Service Solutions for Europe, said: “This new self-service solution, which was created for the Italian market and stems from NCR’s experience and know-how of the retail market, once again confirms our most important goal: to provide solutions that truly fulfil the needs of our European customers.”

NCR is a trademark of NCR Corporation in the United States and other countries.
