Since January, the new version of Güntner's popular design software Güntner Product Calculator (GPC) has been available. Besides additional ErP-compliant units across the entire product range, the software now also globally offers the design with three new refrigerants.

The F-Gas Regulation prescribes a gradual reduction regarding the use of hydrofluorocarbons for the upcoming years. For some time now, newly developed drop-in refrigerants with an accordingly low Global Warming Potential (GWP) have been brought to the market.

The R449A, R452A and R513 refrigerants were, among other things, added to the GPC. The R449A refrigerant (GWP: 1397) is suitable as drop-in refrigerant for R404A and R507 for commercial and industrial applications. The R452A refrigerant (GWP: 2140) is also a possible replacement for R404A und R507; the characteristics of this new refrigerant are very similar to those of R404A. R513A is a drop-in refrigerant for R134a with a GWP of 631.

With the new refrigerants, the number of fluids available via GPC increases to the 50 "most wanted" – a peak value ensuring that the suitable unit with the right fluid will be found for each and every application. The Güntner Product Calculator is a design software which allows for a quick and easy thermodynamic design of the desired unit; it is available in the "Europe", "NLA" and "APO" versions. So it is well worth to download the new GPC version 01/2015 under http://www.guentner.eu/know-how/product-calculator-gpc/!
