The PC-based X-Class scale line from Bizerba is available on the German market from now. The devices are equipped with all functions and capabilities of modern PC-scales and were presented to the international public for the first time at EuroShop.

The scales can be configured ex-factory to comply with LMIV, so that all the requirements of the new EU Food Information Regulations (LMIV) are easily met. In addition, all cash-data can be saved locally on the scale in a file format that is in compliance with the GDPdU. In light of the fact that cash systems must store all accounting data and tax-relevant information and keep it for at least ten years without using data compression, this feature is particularly important.

The transaction data can be exported from the scale to a USB stick or a separate hard drive, so that it remains available for evaluation at all times in the event of an audit, and is accessible with all structure information.

"Decades of expertise in the field of weighing technology have been invested in the development of the X-Class", explains Rainer Maase, Head of Retail for market organization in Germany at Bizerba. "The devices combine all the relevant functions for trade and crafts in a compact design – from weighing and POS to advertising, printing and advising." The integrated printer is unique on the market: receipts, labels and even linerless labels can be printed. Thanks to the Easy Clean surface of the housing and the frameless display, the daily cleaning of the scales is quick and easy to complete.

Machines that adapt to customers

Through interaction with the Bizerba scales software .RetailPowerScale, individual customer requirements can be developed in a cost-effective manner and with little implementation work as a .RetailApp. Functions for processing orders or addressing customers can easily be adapted to specific requirements and designed in accordance with the respective corporate design. This eliminates any dependence on release cycles, while users benefit from reduced waiting periods as well as investment security.

Low energy consumption

Despite its high performance, the X-Class requires little energy. For example, the intelligent use of the stand-by mode in the night contributes to the significant reduction of energy consumption. If maintenance or updates are due at night, the machines can be activated from hibernation by the "Wake on LAN" function for the duration of the operation.

Quick roll changes

The new printer works with almost all common paper types. In addition, the rolls of paper can be changed quickly and intuitively, which saves valuable time. Users can use both two-inch or three-inch rolls with a paper width of up to 80 millimetres and can choose to work in receipt, label or linerless mode.

Correct weighing even when skewed

If the scale is not standing level, it must weigh to the benefit of the customer based on the Weights and Measures Act. In practice, for example for mobile applications or if the scale was moved for cleaning purposes, it is nearly impossible to meet this requirement. The Easy Level technology that is available as an option for the X-Class enables the angle of incline to be corrected automatically. This means that the correct value is always displayed and no revenue is lost.
